Robin Spaight

Robin has lived in rural Lincolnshire, UK with his family for the last 30 years.

Robin has been tying since 1990 where he was taught by his father and other international tyers who were passing through when visiting the UK for shows. Huge influences on early tying were Oliver Edwards (UK) and Mike Martinak (USA) who he spent a number of hours learning the craft of fly-tying.

Robin was one of the founder members of the Lincolnshire Featherbenders, He is currently the Secretary of the Lincolnshire branch of the Fly Dressers Guild. Robin is also the founder along with his Son of Fly-tying for Autism iwho provide bespoke fly-tying lessons for children and young adults with autism.

Robin is on the Pro team of Semperfli and Renomed.

Robin is an active demonstrator of fly-tying and can often be found at various shows in the UK and USA including the living Heritage showsin UK and the Flyfishing shows in the USA

Robin is the co-author of Hebridean Hackled flies for Loch style fishing booklet and is currently working on two further manuscripts.

While he ties all types of flies, he especially enjoys classic wet flies and experimenting with new synthetic materials.
